“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

This is the important part: “Whatever choice you make makes you.” In numerous posts and articles, I’ve written—sometimes at length, sometimes briefly—that making a choice in one direction makes it just a bit easier to make that choice the next time. And these “microtransactions” of choices quickly add up. You’ve no doubt read the following in one form or another:

”Watch your thoughts, they become words;
watch your words, they become actions;
watch your actions, they become habits;
watch your habits, they become character;
watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
—Frank Outlaw, What They’re Saying, 1977

This applies to every choice you make. Every single one, whether you’re conscious of it or not. “Whatever choice you make makes you.” What are you working toward? And are your minute by minute microtransactions helping you get there?

If you’ve taken a class with me, you know there are no resting poses. How much more so in life? How are you recreating yourself from moment to moment? What are you continuing to develop? More than anything, let this knowledge inspire you to be more mindful in even the most innocuous of moments.

Get moving.
Keep moving.
